RTÉ have recently published a new ‘Code of Fair Trading Practice’ which replaces the old ‘Terms of Trade’. The Code, approved by the Minister for Communications, provides for Producers to be able to retain the rights to their productions commissioned by RTÉ. This is a very important development for the sector and follows two years of negotiations between SPI and RTÉ.
