SPI Event
29 May 2014
Pat Rabitte SPI AGM

The Screen Producers Ireland A.G.M 2014 was held on Thursday 29th May 2014, at the Westbury Hotel in Dublin, at 5pm.

This year’s meeting was attended by a total of 54 delegates. The Chairman of the Board of Screen Producers Ireland, John Hennessy, made the opening address to the A.G.M outlining the key issues on the SPI agenda for this year. See full speech HERE.

John Hennessy welcomed the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Pat Rabbitte TD, who addressed the membership about relevant industry issues.  See full Minister's speech HERE.

Minister Rabbitte then engaged in a Q&A with members.

After the Minister left the meeting, Barbara Galavan, Chief Executive of Screen Producers Ireland, delivered her report on the work over the past year to the membership.  See full report HERE.
Each of the items contained in the Agenda of the Meeting were put to the A.G.M, voted on by way of a show of hands and duly approved.
This year there were five nominees for three places on the Board.  Each of the candidates running for election made a short presentation to the membership and the election took place.

SPI are delighted to welcome the newly elected members of the Board.  The newly elected members of the Board are:

  • Mark Byrne, Element Pictures
  • Bernadine Carraher, Mind the Gap Films
  • Andrew Kavanagh, Kavaleer Productions (re-elected)

On behalf of the memberships and the Executive, John Hennessy thanked the outgoing Board members, Paul Donovan of Grand Pictures and Martha O’Neill of Wildfire Films, for all their hard work for the organisation over the last few years.

John Hennessy also thanked the other members who put themselves up for election to the Board and those who came to vote on the night.
