Doc/Fest brings the international documentary family together to celebrate the art and business of documentary making for six intense days in June. With 2014 being our 21st year, Sheffield Doc/Fest is one of the top three documentary festivals and markets in the world. Doc/Fest 2015 will run June 5th-10th 2015

Doc/Fest is a Film Festival, Industry Session programme and Marketplace, offering pitching opportunities, controversial discussion panels and in-depth filmmaker masterclasses, as well as a wealth of inspirational documentary films from across the globe and world-famous parties. Our brand is unique, combining unparalleled expertise with a rebellious streak, dedicated to new talent and voices.
Since 2009 the festival has presented the Crossover Summit which explores new approaches to commissioning content aimed at maximising audience engagement. The Festival continues to be innovative, exciting and different - leading the way in digital and interactive programming.
The 2014 festival presented three Opening Night events, over 150 films and 80 sessions, dozens of networking events and over 3000 film, TV and digital delegates from 60 countries.
Sheffield Doc/Fest offers opportunities for experienced, debut and student filmmakers. It gives new filmmakers the opportunity to learn more about the industry and how to get involved. MeetMarket allows filmmakers the opportunity to pitch projects to commissioning editors, distributors, funders and other executives from the UK, Europe and the world. At Sheffield Doc/Fest you will be able to meet with many documentary EPs, commissioners, broadcasters, distributors and other buyers.
Sheffield Doc/Fest offers in-depth filmmaker masterclasses, controversial discussion panels, incisive interviews and detailed case studies. Guests range from legendary masters of the creative documentary form to presenters of popular factual TV and include representation from all parts of the global doc industry. Sessions include keynote addresses and interviews with some of the world's leading documentary filmmakers and broadcasters.
