RTÉ Learning & Development would like to invite you to join RTÉ TV in a one day seminar Idea to Screen: Focus on Factual aimed at inspiring and informing all documentary lovers on the challenges of documentary making.  The seminar is open to producers, directors, researchers etc. and places will be allocated on a first come-first served basis.  Please see link below for on-line registration.


Idea to Screen: Focus on Factual

Are you interested in attending a one day seminar on all aspects of TV documentary making? Focus on Factual will take place Saturday September 13th in Studio 4, hosted by RTÉ TV
  •  Do you have a great idea that you feel will make a compelling TV documentary, or documentary series?
  • Would you like to access the latest international trends in documentary and factual, find out how to access funding for your big idea and learn how to sharpen your storytelling skills?
  • Do you want to know what Commissioning Editors, Channel Controllers and funding agencies are looking to broadcast these days?

Robert Thirkell, of ‘Jamie’s School Dinners ’and ‘The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off’ will share insights from his C.O.N.F.L.I.C.T seminar into the secrets of compelling storytelling. Speakers will include leading Irish independent documentary makers, commissioning editors from RTÉ Factual, BBCNI, and the BAI. Incoming Controller RTÉ One, Adrian Lynch will share his insights into storytelling through his extensive factual output

The event is aimed at creative and editorial staff, including producers, directors, researchers etc., and is open to all members of the independent production sector.

Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. 

This event will be an all day event, starting at 9.30 to 6pm. So please hurry to reserve your place by following the link attached HERE
