Celtic Media Festival

The Celtic Media Festival is  an annual 3 day event that promotes the languages and cultures of the Celtic Nations and Regions in media. It combines a major conference of seminars and master classes with  presentation of  coveted prizes in an international competition across all the main content genres in TV, radio, film and digital media.

CMF is held in late Spring in the heartland of one of the Celtic nations and regions.

For the last 35 years, CMF has been bringing together those who cherish the languages and cultures of the Celtic countries as portrayed on screen and broadcast. It is a unique festival that has grown and flourished, on a scale that attracts the best conference speakers and that can showcase emerging talent yet intimate enough for delegates to meet the decision-makers you need to meet.

The Celtic Media Festival takes place in Inverness on April 22, 23 and 24; delegate registration closes Friday April 17.

Key commissioners from the BBC, Channel 4, RTÉ, BBC NI, BBC Scotland, UTV Ireland, S4C and TG4 are set to attend.

Full programme details are available at www.celticmediafestival.co.uk/the-programme.

Programme highlights include:

  •  Speed Networking with commissioners from Channel 4, the BBC, S4C and BBC NI
  • Sky Arts Amplify: delegates get to meet arts organisations to brainstorm and network
  •  Format for Success, sponsored by the BAI
  •  Anatomy of a Story: step-by-step through the radio production process with the BBC’s Pennie Latin

This was a record year for the festival, with over 500 entries for the prestigious Torc Awards.
